Teams for WEC confirmed

After going through a grueling qualifier, LGD, LGD.CDEC, and HGT has qualified for the World Esports Championship that will be taking place on 7-9 September in Shanghai, China.

The Chinese qualifier was played in a best-of-one format and with untried roster on most of the top teams, Invictus Gaming, Vici Gaming and other teams of high caliber fell to the eventual winners in the early stages of the qualifier.

The three Chinese teams will be joined by Titan, Cloud 9, Evil Geniuses and Natus Vincere who replaced Team Secret. There were much hype about the participation of Team Secret in the tournament but unfortunately, the organizers confirmed that members of Team Secret are unable to obtain their visas in time.

Apart from that, Yee Fung ‘Mushi’ Chai, he will be standing-in for Titan for WEC.

WEC will be the first LAN event to be played after The International 4. The qualified teams will be battling for a piece of the $168,000 prize pool.
