MSI Presents Beat IT 2014!

The MSI Beat It Gaming Tournament can be traced back to 2010, where the first tournament was hosted by MSI. The vision is to create a platform for all gamers to show their gaming skills and enjoy the competition against the best players in the world. The MSI Beat IT tournaments have made some of the top players of our time famous and provided players who want to enjoy gaming an unforgettable experience with the MSI Beat It Gaming Tournament Series.

For the MSI Beat IT 2014, $113,500 in Prizepool and travel support is available for the Global StarCraft 2 tournament and the Dota 2 Competition.

As in the previous MSI Beat It, we will host several Qualifiers for each region to determine the best players and teams. More information regarding the qualifiers can be found below. The best teams of the MSI Beat IT 2014 qualifers will then compete in the Grand Finals which will be held in Taipei, Taiwan.

But the MSI Beat It Tournament Series is not only something for the players, but also for the fans. Once again Fnatic and MSI have prepared several competitions for the fans, where you can win awesome prizes from Fnatic and MSI.

For both Dota 2 and StarCraft 2 there will be regional qualifiers to determine the best teams which will compete in the Grand Finals in Taipei, Taiwan.

For the StarCraft 2 Tournament, there will be six qualifiers for the following regions: Europe, USA, APAC, South Korea, SEA and Australia. These qualifers are, depending on the region, split into a Pre qualifer and a Main qualifer. Finally the best 12 players will compete in Taiwan in the Grand Finals. The Prizepool for the StarCraft 2 tournament is $26,000.

The Dota 2 Tournament will feature eight qualifiers (USA, Europe, China, Africa, SEA, Australia, MEA). Again there will be, depending on the region, pre qualifiers and main qualifiers to determine eight teams which will compete at the Grand Finals. The prize pool for the Dota 2 tournament is at $44,000. The Prizepool for the Dota 2 Tournament is linked to the MSI Beat IT Dota TV ticket and each purchase will increase the Prizepool.

MSI Beat IT 2014 Global Grand Finals finally came to the perfect ending in Nov, 3rd DOTA 2, well-known international hosts and casters and thousands of gaming fans from around the world gathered at ATT Show Box, cheering for their favorite players! After two days of intensive fighting, eventually, Virtus.Pro claimed the title of DOTA 2.

Match Rule

  • Top 8 Group Stage –Double Elimination Bo1 (Winner Match &1W1L match -Bo3)
  • Semi Finals – Single Elimination Bo3 (A1 vs B2 、B1 vs A2)
  • Finals -Bo5


SEA Qualifiers:

  • Format: Single Elimination Best-of-1; Semi Finals & Finals will be Best-of-3, Captains Mode
  • Maximum teams: 64 teams per country
  • Timeframe: 7.30pm to 11.30pm GMT +8
  • Ban/Pick selection: Teams named first in the bracket will need to select either 1st pick or sides (Radiant or Dire).
  • Procedure: Team captains are to put their team tags according to the brackets & join the DOTA 2 channel ‘Rapture Gaming Network’ by 7.15pm GMT +8 & look for their opponents. Teams that fail to turn up 15 minutes after their stipulated match schedule will be given a forfeit loss. Teams are also reminded to keep the end-game screenshot in case of a match dispute. Should a particular match be broadcasted, the team captain will be informed beforehand & an admin will host that game.
