EG and Secret on top after Starladder 10 day one

Day one of Starladder Star Series 10 is over and while no teams will be eliminated, Evil Geniuses and Team Secret have secured their spot in the winner bracket of the tournament while the rest of the pack will continue battling today to score a better seed.

IAP.Execration, South East Asia’s representative in Starladder Star Series 10 and the only Asian team in the tournament, did not disappoint yesterday as they showed strong performance, especially during the laning phase to overcome Virtus.Pro. Prior to their game against Virtus.Pro, Execration lost in their debut game against home team Natus Vincere due to many mistakes committed in the mid game. Their last game of the day, also their last game of the groupstage against Team Secret saw them blowing a huge lead due to pick offs after pick offs initiated by Team Secret.

Due to this, Execration will now have to wait for the result between Team Secret and Natus Vincere later today to know if they will be playing in a tiebreaker to decide who goes into the winner bracket of the playoffs. Na`Vi, currently sitting at 1-1, will have to beat Team Secret to be the top seed in the group. If Na`Vi were to lose against Team Secret, they will be tied with Execration and Virtus.Pro for second place in which a tiebreaker will ensue.

Coming into day two, all the participating teams have either finished their groupstage or have only one game to go bar Cloud 9 who will be starting their Starladder 10 adventure today. Cloud 9 will be playing with Mag from Team Empire as a stand-in because bOne7, their offlane player, has been diagnosed with kidney stones in Romania.
